With its engaging storytelling, fun gameplay, and great visuals, it is a must-have for anyone that loves to explore alien worlds and make moral decisions. The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition is a great game that is sure to please fans of science fiction and role-playing games. The game also features a dialogue system that allows you to pick the tone of conversation with the characters you meet. Exploration is also rewarding, with many secrets and side quests to discover. Combat is fast and fun, with plenty of weapons and abilities to choose from. Gameplay wise, The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition is a great experience. The character models are also well done, and the game runs smoothly even when there are a lot of things happening on screen. The game world is detailed and immersive, with a great soundtrack and sound effects helping to bring the game to life. Graphically, The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition looks great. This moral decision forms the basis of the game, and the player's decisions will have a direct impact on the story. Here, the player is presented with a choice: to help the locals survive or to help the corporations. The game follows a character called the Stranger, who is taken to a corporate-run colony called Halcyon. ![]() Developed by Obsidian Entertainment and published by Private Division, this game is set in an alternate future in which mega-corporations have taken over much of the universe. The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition is a must-have for any fan of science fiction and role-playing games. In the end, I would really recommend this game for people who like the RPG genre. Obsidian clearly has the talent to create amazing games, and there is no need to try to copy existing systems. ![]() I do feel however, that on some mechanics they tried to match the Fallout counterparts too much. It’s comparable to Fallout on a lot of aspects, but also adds its own flavor to the mix. It’s on the shorter side for these types of games, but you ask me that’s not that big of an issue. Overall, The Outer Worlds is a lot of fun. Soon enough you can persuade anyone to do what you want. I did find the skill checks on dialog a bit too easy though. Speaking of which, the cities are really nice! They’re fun, well crafted and big/interesting cities to explore.ĭialog is fun and the decisions you make actually make a difference towards the end result of the game. They are however, quite empty besides the main locations, and you should not expect to bump into too many special spots or sudden side quests, most of these are acquired in the main cities. The game itself looks great, and has some fun environments to explore. Don’t expect too much of those either though, they’re mostly fetch quests. There’s some side quests as well, and if you love those, I think you can count on some 40-50 hours of gameplay(with the DLC’s). Both are really fun and if you ask me, even better than the main game. I played the Spacers Choice edition, which also included 2 new story lines. It’s short however, I would guess around 12 hours if you skip the side quests. It’s nothing to write home about, but good enough to keep it interesting. The main story can be hard to follow at first, but picks up towards the end. Let’s look at the Outer Worlds as its own game. Yes you can roam around and find the occasional side quest, but it doesn’t have the lore and small hidden spots to discover that Fallout games have. ![]() Locations are well crafted, look beautiful and are fun to explore, but don’t have nearly the amount of content Fallout has for example. Instead of one big open world, you travel the galaxy and enter smaller semi-open worlds, comparable to the Borderlands games for example. The biggest difference between the two for me is the world and its setup. NPC’s also have the same stale Bethesda look on their faces, and dialog options with skill checks also remind me of Fallout. Some systems like VATS, terminals with information and logs, the skill upgrades are all very similar. But it does have some mechanics & systems that are almost exactly the same and clearly expired by Fallout. I expected it to be just like the old Fallout games. I kind of forgot about it after I didn’t buy it at launch, and just recently acquired it. As a big fan of the Fallout franchise, a game made by the original creators of Fallout & the creators of Fallout New Vegas this seemed to be the perfect game for me. The outer worlds caught my eye back when it came out.
